In poker, the best hand one can have is a royal flush. Greencross likes to play poker, but the game where he really cleans the table is called techno. Venezuelan-born Daniel Gavilán aka Greencross, who later lived for seven years in Barcelona, has a bulky CV, with records on houses such as Slap Jaxx, Parallel 125, Home Audio, Gotham Grooves, Vokodek Music, Para Disco and Wikkid Records. Nation wide tours in Brazil since 2008, an usual suspect on places such as BeCool, Florida 135, Row 14 back in Barcelona, while also closing bookings in Germany, The Netherlands, France and, some times, Venezuela. Daniel has a Royal Flush in his hands right now. It is a label called Different Is Different Records, releasing festival-oriented Techno tracks with a dark and funky twist. It is born digital, but special edition releases on vinyl are to appear randomly. Their first release comes from brazilian Elton D, and was named Reflection EP. It has two versions of the title-track. The original is more atmospheric, with a slow build-up and a breakdown with a vocal that will stick in the heads of dancers. The other version is a more energetic interpretation by Hertz, the Swedish techno wizard. Hertz was one of the initial supporters of Eltons music in Europe, being one of the first to release his tracks. Different Is Different arrives with the support of another heavyweight, master Dave Clarke, showing heavy support on the forthcoming releases. The EP has also two versions for I Know. One comes with liquified percussion and is haunted by an alien vocal; the other is more shuffly, with unstoppable rhythms. A fifth track, 'Concret', completes the release. DID has much more on its sleeve. Next releases include material by Adam Jay, Tom Hades, Rich Jones, Angel Alanis, Drumcomplex, Mattias Fridell, and, of course, Greencross.
